Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. The people who aren't familiar with this term often think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal however, this part of West Island is home to all things from the City of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel grew up on the West Island, and it is often referred to as her birthplace. But she only was there for a brief period of time. Brugel grew on Courtice close to Oshawa in Ontario. When she was a child she hoped to become professional performer, however an unexpected increase in her height made it difficult. In an article that was published in The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. As soon as I outgrew the size of my male friends, I stopped. Bruce was among the former dancers who shifted into acting. The teacher she had at high school was the one who pushed her to take the next step. The teacher who suggested she take on a part in the annual school production. After a few auditions the role, she was chosen as the leading lady for Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Her career spans 20 years and she's performed in more than 60 shows including big screen productions and on smaller ones. Her most recognizable role was that of Rita (pictured beneath) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was only seen on a few instances in the initial season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. She was the only Canadian participant.
